Recipe of the Week - Ginger Beef Stir-fry

Here is a quick and simple beef stir-fry that is guaranteed to hit the spot. Use whatever vegetables you like, or go with our options; either way this one is a winner!


2 tbsp coconut oil

150g thinly sliced beef per person


2 tsp of crushed garlic

1/4 cup of wheat free tamari (can be found in organic stores like Taste or Thomas Dux or the health food aisle of your local supermarket)

2 tbsp sesame oil

1/2 tsp finely grated ginger

1 tspo ground black pepper

Juice from 1 orange


5 carrots, sliced thinly into strips

I onion, diced

1 spanish onion, thinly sliced

Medium bag of mushrooms

1 bunch baby bok choy


  • In a large mixing bowl combine the sliced beef with all of the marinade ingredients, making sure to coat all pieces evenly. Let the beef marinate for anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, depending on the time you have. You could even wrap it in glad wrap and leave in the fridge overnight for maximum flavour.
  • In a wok or large fry pan, heat the coconut oil. Add the onions and cook until they are tender.
  • Add the carrots and sauté for another 3 minutes. Add the beef and the marinade and cook for 4-5 minutes or until the meat is cooked through to your preference.
  • Finally, add the bok choy and cook until just heated through and slightly wilted.

Quick, easy and delicious! Enjoy and feel free to change the beef for chicken.
