What is the Paleo way?

Eating real fresh natural foods like meats, vegetable, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and NO sugar. Drink water, tea and black coffee. Choose the foods that are nutrient-dense, with lots of naturally occurring vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. This is not a “diet” as you will eat as much as you need to maintain energy, strength and a healthy body weight. Basically, this means eating natural foods from the ground like we used to in the Palaeolithic days. Giving our bodies the fuel it needs and knows how to use.

Certain foods like bread, pasta, rice and cereals, and sugars are high in carbohydrates. These foods that have been introduced into our diets over the last 100 years, they are causing all of the metabolic diseases we see today: obesity, diabetes, heart disease and death by heart attacks and strokes. Theses foods increase the production of the hormone insulin which makes the fat cells absorb more fat. If we cut out these simple carbohydrates we decrease over production of insulin and decrease the absorption of fat into our fat cells.

Why Nutrition?

Nutrition is the foundation on what builds our bodies and needs to be a main part of any good weight management program and is the key to good health. It can create improvements in everything from energy levels, sleep patterns, physical performance, injury rehabilitation to body composition.

Through good nutrition and physical activity we can create fit and healthy lifestyles.

We believe that a good nutritional program should be centred around eating real food. Fad diets, crash diets, miracle pills and “meal replacements” are not part of a sustainable way towards improved health and fitness. Instead, we encourage you to eat high quality meat, seafood and eggs, plenty of fresh vegetables, some fruits and healthy sources of dietary fats. There is no need to count calories or watch the size of your meals. You just eat good food, exercising 3 to 5 times a week and you will be looking, feeling and performing at your best.
